Comic-Con 2016: First Marvel Defenders teaser confirms 2017 release on Netflix

Marvel’s Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and soon to arrive Netflix series for Luke Cage and Iron First are all building up to one thing — The Defenders.

Marvel debuted the first teaser trailer for the upcoming supergroup team-up series during the Luke Cage 2016 San Diego Comic-Con panel, confirming a 2017 release for the
show on Netflix.

Fittingly set to the track of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are,” the trailer highlights the four heroes — Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist — before Daredevil’s Stick (Scott Glenn) addresses The Defenders with a voiceover.

“You think the four of you can save New York? You can’t even save yourselves,” he says before the show’s official logo appears.

Luke Cage is the next Marvel/Netflix series to debut on September 30th. It will be followed by Iron Fist in 2017 (presumably Spring), all building up to The Defenders, which one can assume will be a late 2017 debut on Netflix.
